Deck Repair with Wood Rot March 2021

My client, Ellen, wanted to update her shabby deck floor.

We explored painted wood decking vs. composite decking and decided to use composite for its long-term durability.

As I disassembled the old deck floor, I found that certain joists were rotting away.

Not good for a second-story balcony deck…

We agreed on the additional repair scope and costs and replaced the rotting joists with pressure-treated lumber to prevent future rot.

After the structural repairs I completed the installation of the composite deck floor.

Looks sharp!

The cost to repair the deck, in Fort Collins, in March of 2021, was $2,880 and took approximately 25 hours to complete.
